On November 8, the Cathedral of Toledo inaugurated an exhibition dedicated to Cardinal Cisneros, entitled “Cisneros, Archetype of virtues, mirror of presides”. This exhibition, organized by the Cabildo, exhibits different pieces from multiple collections from all over Spain from the time of the cardinal on the occasion of the 5th centenary of his death.
In total there are about 350 pieces placed in the choir of the cathedral, and that gathers paintings, sculptures, textiles, tapestries, ceramics, chalices, engravings, and Goldsmith works.
It also includes personal objects of the Cardinal himself, in a recreation of his stay, as well as the always outstanding custody of Arfe, commissioned by Cisneros.
He also collaborates with the Diocese of Alcalá de Henares with the loan of some pieces of interest, and the city Council of Toledo, with the transfer of pieces from the Municipal archives.
The exhibition will be open to the public until February 18, 2018.
