A few days ago, in an earlier entrance, from Camping el Greco we recommend some places of the province with natural pools to take a good dip in these hot days. Today we recommend another visit, to be able to know a beautiful village, and to be able to complete the day with a refreshing bath.

The village in question is Escalona, just over 50 kilometers from the campsite. There we can walk through the beautiful streets of a typical Castilian village, and its Plaza Mayor, in which it is believed to have taken place some other scene recreated in the famous “Lazarillo de Tormes”, surrounded by magnificent arcades with wooden beams.

Worthy of mention is also the Convent of the Incarnation, the Church of San Miguel, and of the end, its famous Castle. It is currently privately owned, but on Saturdays it is open to the public.

And at the foot of Escalona runs the River Alberche, a place used by locals and visitors to enjoy a relaxing swim in a beautiful setting.
